President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on May 12 signed a law on amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, expanding the powers of the National Guard, the Ministry of Justice reported.
In particular, now officers of the National Guard shall be entitled to receive offense cases under the following articles of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, according to which the department itself can impose fines (without trial):
- part 1 of article 187 (consumption of alcoholic products in public places);
- article 188 (involving a minor in antisocial behavior);
- article 188-2 (admission of a minor to stay in places of entertainment (leisure) at night);
- article 192 (violation of domestic noise regulations).
In addition, the National Guard is proposed to be provided with the authority to consider cases, draw up and send protocols for consideration to the court under 19 articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses, including "petty hooliganism", "petty theft", "carrying cold weapons or objects that can be used as cold weapons" illegal production, storage, import or distribution of materials of religious content” and others.
