Extraordinary meeting of the central council of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan took place today in Tashkent. The meeting participants made a decision to nominate Ulugbek Inoyatov as a presidential candidate, UzA reported.
As reported earlier on May 11, at the extraordinary meeting of the central council of the Ecological Party, Abdushukur Khamzaev was nominated as their candidate for the early presidential elections on July 9.
According to the Central Election Committee, the presidential election campaign has been declared open as of May 10.
Political parties must, within three days after the announcement of the election campaign, apply to the Central Electoral Commission for the registration of their authorized representatives. To participate in the elections, parties must submit documents before May 15. Presidential candidates will be nominated from May 17 to June 1.
