In January-April, 42 foreign technology and online companies paid 32.4 billion soums, or US$ 2.8 million in taxes in Uzbekistan, which is by 1.6 times more compared to the same period last year, the Tax Committee said.
10 foreign e-services companies accounted for 95% of paid taxes:
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram) - 12.1 billion soums;
- Google - 9.3 billion soums;
- Apple - 6 billion soums;
- Booking.com - 1.1 billion soums;
- Netflix - 1.1 billion soums;
- Xsolla (acceptance of payments in online games) - 632.9 million soums;
- Yandex - 363 million soums;
- Paddle.com (sales of digital products) - 321 million soums;
- LinkedIn - 275.6 million soums;
- Adobe Systems - 221 million soums.
Reportedly, 40 foreign companies providing online services were registered in Uzbekistan as of December 1, 2022. Over the past two years, their number has doubled.
