Today, on May 4, the Legislative Chamber held its regular meeting. According to the press service of the Parliament, during the meeting in the second reading, the Introducing addenda and amendments to Article 208 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bill was considered.
The document has established the November 11 - the Day of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan as a public holiday -.
“The passing of the bill will serve to further anhance the system for protecting the professional, labor, socio-economic rights of workers,” the MPs said.
In the future, the document must be approved by the Senate and signed by the president. If the bill takes effect this year, then in November, Uzbeks will have a rest for several days in a row.
Earlier in November 2022, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to declare November 11 an official day off in honor of the celebration of the “Day of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan”.
