President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Secretary General of the CIS, Sergei Lebedev, who arrived as the chief of a observer mission of the constitutional referendum.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked the Secretary General and the members of the Commonwealth Mission for their active work in all provinces of the country, as well as high assessment for the conduct and results of the referendum.
While, Sergei Lebedev congratulated the leader and the people of Uzbekistan on the successful organization of the nationwide vote in line with international requirements and standards and expressed confidence that the results of the referendum would become an important stage in the construction of a new Uzbekistan and the continuation of democratic reforms in the country.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of the CIS platform for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation, primarily in trade, economic, industrial and transport areas and highly valued the upward trend in investment growth in the CIS, the fruitful results of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council in Samarkand in March of this year.
They also touched upon the further continuation of active humanitarian exchanges.
