Presidents of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had a telephone conversation on May 1, the Uzbek presidential press service said.
At the beginning of the conversation, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated on the successful holding of the referendum on the new Constitution of Uzbekistan, which took place on April 30.
While, Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the leader and people of Kazakhstan on the national holiday – the Kazakhstan Unity Day.
During the conversation, the counterparts focued on the progress of the decrees of the heads of state, primarily the preparation and implementation of cooperation programs in priority sectors.
In this regard, the governments were instructed to take measures to expedite joint projects during the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission, which will be held this week in Tashkent.
The two leaders also reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
