Uzbekistan’s status as a country with the most diversified economy in the region even more solidified, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the 2nd Tashkent International Investment Forum today.
About 100,000 new enterprises were set in just one year, the annual volume of foreign investments reached $10 billion, or 3 times more than in 2017, when the reforms began. About 1 million people were lifted out of poverty, and the poverty rate was reduced from 17% to 14%, he said.
Of course, you, our respected partners, also contributed to these achievements. Thousands of modern enterprises have been set up in our country in recent years with your support, large projects have been implemented, and hundreds of thousands of new high-income jobs have been created, he added.
He voiced gratitude high respect to all foreign and domestic investors, governments of partner countries, international financial institutions, who are making a worthy contribution to such achievements.
