Metro service to five newly built stations between Kuilyuk area (station 7) and Quruvchilar (station 12) on the Circular Line of the elevated metro was launched in Tashkent on Tuesday, the press service of the Ministry of Transport said.

The length of the new section is about 8 km. Its opening marks the completion of the phase II of the Circular Line project. The total length of the Tashkent metro has now surpassed 70 km.

The phase I of the Circular Line project from Dustlik station to Kuylyuk was launched in August 2020. In December of the same year, the Sergeli line was opened, which is the continuation of the Chilanzar line.

At present, the phase III of the Circular Line project is underway at Quruvchilar - Kipchak section (station 5 of the Sergeli line), which includes two more stations, with a length of about 4 km. For now, buses will operate on this section.
