Tashkent will host the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup series from April 14 to 16, the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan said today.

World Cup series will feature athletes from 31 countries, including the likes of the Asian champion, winner of the World Cup series, the Uzbeks Takhmina Ikromova and Asian champion Yasmina Rakhimova in individual program, and Ekaterina Fetisova, Rukhshona Dekhkonova, Shahzoda Ibragimova, Nargiza Dzhumaniyozov, Mumtoza Iskhokzoda, Irodakhon Sodikova in group exercises.

2022 World champions Sofia Raffaeli (ITA) and Darja Varfolomeev (GER) are set to resume their international rivalry.

The series also features rising stars  Elzhana Taniyeva (KAZ), and Barbara Domingos (BRA), a Pan-American standout fresh off her own glorious first: winning Brazil’s first individual World Cup medal, bronze with the Ribbon, last week in Sofia (BUL).

Also likely to be in the medal hunt are Fanni Pigniczki (HUN), Margarita Kolosov (GER), and Wang Zilu (CHN), a 2018 Youth Olympian whose Clubs routine was among the top 20 in the world in 2021.

Bulgaria, a strong international contender, is sending 2021 Worlds finalist Tatyana Volozhanina, and opting to rest star Stiliana Nikolova after the 17-year-old earned four golds in Sofia earlier this month.
