Peshku district man of Bukhara region cut off the ears of a donkey, after which the animal died. The incident was reported on Saturday morning by the Mehr va Oqibat Animal Welfare Society.
The footage of an animal bleeding from its wounds was posted on the Internet by a local resident. He said that his fellow villager U.A. did it.
Mehr va Oqibat sent information about the incident to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to find the perpetrator of animal cruelty and punish him according to the law.
In the afternoon, the Bukhara province police department reported that an administrative protocol was drawn up in relation to U.A., 38, under cruelty to an animal that resulted in its death or injury charge of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
The case was referred to the district court. This offence is punishable with a fine of 5 to 10 basic settlement units (from 130 to 260 USD) or a 15-day administrative arrest.
According to the police department, the incident took place on the evening of April 6. U.A. cut off the ears of his neighbor's donkey, allegedly because of damage to his backyard.
