The Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Qudratov held talks with the Minister of Trade and Industry of Egypt Ahmed Saleh via conference call.

They discussed the current situation and prospects for the development of mutual cooperation between the two countries in trade-economic, investment and industrial areas.

The sides discussed the ways to advance investment cooperation, measures of establishment of a joint industrial cooperation and distribution center for the placement of Uzbek enterprises for the production of textile, leather and electrical engineering products in Port Said. Ahmed Saleh expressed readiness to provide comprehensive support for the effective implementation of projects on time.

They reviewed trade-industrial cooperation development and underscored that there is a significant potential for increasing the volume of two-way trade. They agreed to step up efforts aimed at speeding up the agreement and approval of the Industrial Cooperation and Trade Development Program and the Agreement on Preferential Trade between the two countries.

They coordinated establishing a joint businessmen's council between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries and holding its first meeting in Tashkent this summer within the framework of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission.
