Aeroflot's Ferghana to Tashkent flight was delayed for technical reasons, the press service of Uzbekistan Airports said.

Reportedly, the Aeroflot plane, which arrived on April 3 at 04:14 Tashkent time from Moscow to Fergana (flight SU1970) with 81 passengers on board, encountered a technical malfunction. To continue the flight, Aeroflot's authorities decided to replace the aircraft.

Due to this, the Fergana - Tashkent flight was postponed from 05:45 to 17:30 local time.

To operate this flight, Aeroflot Airlines sent an additional B737-800 type aircraft from Sheremetyevo Airport (Moscow). Prior to the arrival of this aircraft, passengers were accommodated in hotels.

Airbus and Boeing halted supply of aircraft parts to Russian airlines in March 2022 after the invasion of Ukraine. There are suspiciosn that the aircraft could be seeking maintenance and spare part replacement at Uzbekistan's facilities.
