Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party/Secretary of the Party Committee of the Communist Party of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region Ma Xingrui, the presidential press service said.

The parties discussed the progress of joint projects in the field of renewable energy, the development of transport infrastructure, the creation of industrial parks and agricultural clusters in the provinces of Uzbekistan with the participation of leading Chinese companies.

They also emphasized mutual interest in accelerating the construction project of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway and underscored the untapped potential for expanding cooperation between Tashkent, Samarkand and other regions of Uzbekistan with the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, including in the field of trade, logistics, medicine, the agricultural sector, tourism and education.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave instructions to step up mutual contacts and exchanges, organize visits and business forums, as well as adopt a separate road map to promote priority projects and programs.

On the same day, a solemn ceremony of signing bilateral agreements on cooperation in the fields of energy and trade between Uzbekistan and the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region of China was held, the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (MIIT) reported.

The event was attended by the leadership of the MIIT, the Ministry of Energy, the heads of administrations of the Tashkent and Jizzakh provibces and the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region of China Hadan Kabin, as well as more than 40 executives of large companies from the two countries.

Minister of Energy Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov and CEO of Huadian Xinjiang Power Han Song signed a memorandum of understanding on the construction of PV plants in Navoi and Ferghana provinces.
