For the first time, a man who was on the international wanted list was extradited from Sweden to Uzbekistan through Interpol, the National Central Bureau of Interpol of Uzbekistan said.

Reportedly, the detainee, in collusion with a group of people “according to a well-thought-out plan”, was engaged in the sale of real estate by forgery of documents, which caused especially large material damage to the victims.

From criminal prosecution, the man was hiding in the territory of the EU countries, but in the course of operational-search activities he was identified and arrested in Sweden.

The report says that the detention was preceded by a meeting of the heads of the national Interpol bureaus of Uzbekistan and Sweden on the sidelines of the annual conference of the heads of Interpol bureaus in Lyon (France), as well as lengthy correspondence and negotiations at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan.

The detainee was taken to Uzbekistan, where he will appear before the court.
