Gas production in Uzbekistan has been decreasing for the third month in a row, according to the report of the Agency of Statistics on industrial production.

In 2022, gas production decreased by 4%, from 53.8 billion cubic meters (BCM) to 51.66 BCM.

The December production topped 4.35 BCM, in January - 4.31 BCM, in February - 3.85 BCM.

Thus, in January-February 2023, the gas production decreased by 8.2%, or by 730.8 million cubic meters, compared to the same period last year.

It is noteworthy that the decline in production in February (-9% compared to February 2022) accelerated compared to January (-7.5% compared to January last year), when abnormal frosts were observed.

In January-February, electricity production decreased by 2.1% compared to the same period last year - from 12.88 billion to 12.6 billion kWh. According to the Agency on Statistics, since 2019, these months have not yet seen a drop in electricity generation. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy reported that electricity production increased by 4% in January-February.

Thermal energy production decreased by 5.9%, coal - by 22.4%, gas condensate - by 8.9%. At the same time, oil production increased by 7.6%.
