Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held talks with the director of Mareven Food Holdings (Vietnam) Nguyen Duong via conference call yesterday.

According to the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (MIIT), Mareven Food Holdings specializes in investing in projects for the processing of agricultural products, the production and distribution of food products. The company's international brand portfolio includes Rollton, BIGBON, Mareven Professional Food, Petra, and Actibo, Dunyo reported.

Reportedly, the parties discussed in detail further steps for the construction of a large plant for the production of instant food, soft drinks, dried vegetables, and chips worth US$ 125 million. The project will be implemented at the Angren free economic zone in Tashkent province and create 800 new jobs.

During the negotiations, the Vietnamese partners also announced the current state of work on organizing the activities of a logistics hub in the Tashkent region to receive and distribute the company's products to the markets of Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries. Laziz Kudratov expressed readiness to assist in the implementation of the company's investment initiatives in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, the parties developed a format for further interaction in order to successfully implement projects, meaning the launch of production and logistics facilities of Mareven Food Holdings in Uzbekistan and the creation of new jobs.
