On September 14-15, Dushanbe will host the fifth Central Asia Summit and the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of the founding states of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan said.

The summits are expected to be attended by the leaders of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, the Republic of Tajikistan has begun complex preparatory work to hold meetings of the leaders of Central Asian countries. In this regard, on behalf of the President of the country, an organizing committee was established, headed by Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, which includes the heads of all ministries and departments. The secretariat of the summits also functions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A number of important documents are expected to be adopted the fifth anniversary Summit, the main of which will be a joint statement by the heads of state of Central Asia.

Meanwhile, the Summit will feature an economic forum, an international exhibition of national products, a meeting of members of the dialogue of women leaders of Central Asia, an exhibition of artists, the first forum of rectors of higher educational institutions, a meeting of ministers of transport and a gala concert of masters of culture and art of the states of Central Asia will be held in Dushanbe .

“Maintaining a confidential dialogue and further development of relations between the states of Central Asia in all directions is one of the important priorities in the foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan. The Dushanbe high-level meetings will help strengthen the process of developing regional cooperation and further strengthening security and stability in the region,” the Foreign Ministry concluded.
