Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun on Thursday, the presidential press service said.

Reportedly, the parties reviewed the practical aspects of further expansion of the multifaceted partnership. Shavkat Mirziyoyev highly valued the high level of interaction with the bank achieved in recent years.

The cooperation portfolio has grown to $2 billion, with important projects being implemented in the field of transport, energy, healthcare, agriculture and utilities, and business support.

Jin Liqun emphasized the bank's commitment to expanding strategic partnership with Uzbekistan in such key areas as combating poverty and creating jobs, primarily in rural areas, developing solar energy, introducing public-private partnership mechanisms and mixed project financing, expanding support for entrepreneurship and others.

The sides focused on the promotion of strategically important infrastructure projects in the Central Asian region and reached an agreement on the development of a new medium-term partnership program and a road map aimed at accelerating the implementation and ensuring the effectiveness of full-scale cooperation projects.
