Due to the expected heavy rains on March 11-12, mudslides are likely in the foothills and mountainous areas of nine provinces of Uzbekistan, Uzhydromet reported.

Those living in these areas, as well as vacationers and drivers, are asked to take precautions.

Districts where mudslide hazard declared:

Kashkadarya province: Yakkabag, Dekhkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, Kamashin, Guzar districts;

Surkhandarya province: Saryasi, Uzun, Altynsay, Denau, Baysun, Sherabad, Shurcha, Kumkurgan, Muzrabat districts;

Samarkand province: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurabad, Koshrabad, Kattagurgan, Payaryk, Dzhambai, Ishtykhan districts;

Navoi province: Khatyrchi, Navbakhor, Nurata, Kanimekh, Karmaninsky districts;

Jizzakh province: Zaamin, Bakhmal, Gallaaral, Sharaf-Rashidov, Farish, Yangiabad districts;

Tashkent province: Akhangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik districts and the cities of Angren, Almalyk;

Namangan province: Papsky, Kasansay, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, Yangikurgan districts;

Fergana province: Sokh, Shakhimardan, Ferghana, Besharyk districts;

Andijan province: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izbaskan, Khozhaabad, Markhamat districts and the city of Khanabad.
