President Mirziyoyev signed Measures to reform the public transport system decree which inter alia stipulates the building multi-storey car parks in Tashkent.
The proposal made by the Ministry of Economy and Finance was approved on direct allocation of land plots to a specially created government institution at the expense of the State budget or under public-private partnership terms for the construction of multi-storey car parks in Tashkent and the introduction of a practice of selling them as a ready-made business, provided that the parking profile remains unchanged .
The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Communal Services, together with the Tashkent city mayor’s office, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, within a month, are required to submit for approval to the Cabinet of Ministers of the procedure for construction of multi-storey car parks.
The Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan autonomy and the governor offices, together with the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Communal Services, were instructed to ensure the development of action plans to improve the public transport system and infrastructure of the city of Nukus and provincial centers and targeted programs for their implementation before 2024.
