1,000 new buses will be delivered to Tashkent city from China before May. 700 of them will be gas-powered, 300 will be electric buses. Currently, the French company is developing the feasibility study of the tram line from the North Station to the New Uzbekistan Park.

According to Ikrom Shodiev, expert on marketing projects and foreign economic relations department of Toshshahartranshizmat, thousands of new buses are expected to arrive in April.

— In order to reduce the amount of harmful substances emitted into the air by public transport, as part of the renewal program, it was decided to purchase a thousand new modern buses in Q1 of this year. Of these 1,000 buses, 700 run on compressed natural gas and 300 run entirely on electricity (electric buses).

Of these buses, 200 will be 18-meter long articulated ones, and will be used on routes with a large passenger flow.

Contracts for the purchase of buses have been signed with Chinese companies King Long and Yutong. According to the documents, the buses are scheduled to be delivered from the end of February.

Previously, 100-200 buses were imported per year, 1000 buses in 1 year is massive. These vehicles will largely help improve the quality of service for city residents and open up new routes.
