President’s Envoy on Afghanistan, Ismatulla Ergashev hosted the UK’s Ambassador Timothy Torlot yesterday. The parties discussed regional security, including the possible regulation of the situation in Afghanistan.
Timothy Torlot highly valued Uzbekistan's efforts to develop a unified regional position on Afghanistan, establish long-term peace and stability in the country, and provide humanitarian aid to the Afghan people.
Also, the parties focused on the implementation of the initiative of the leadership of Uzbekistan to create an international negotiating group under the auspices of the UN.
