Today in the morning, the plane carrying the Politburo member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, head of the office of the foreign affairs commission of the CPC Central Committee and the former Foreign Minister Wang Yi, on the way to Europe, made a stop in Tashkent due to technical reasons. Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov arrived at the airport to welcome Wang Yi, Xinhua reported.
Reportedly, the parties held talks and highly valued the Chinese-Uzbek friendship ties, exchanged views on further plan for meetings between the two countries.
They unanimously agreed to jointly implement the important agreements of the heads of the two states, promote the Uzbek-Chinese comprehensive, mutually beneficial cooperation and cooperation between China and Central Asia, and jointly protect peace and stability in the region.
Wang Yi was on his way to the Eu tour including France, Italy, Hungary and Russia from February 14 to 22, as well as attend the 59th Munich Security Conference on February 17-19.
Wang Yi had been in charge of the Chinese Foreign Ministry for 9 years and began working on the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee in January 2023.
