President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree appointing Akmal Zhumanazarov as the Deputy Minister of Energy, the Ministry of Energy reported on Tuesday.
Akmal Zhumanazarov will be in charge of the power and coal industries.
Prior to his appointment, he had worked as the head of the department for geology, energy, industry and the development of its basic industries of the Cabinet of Ministers.
In mid-January, Deputy Energy Minister Sherzod Khodjaev was dismissed from his post amid the energy crisis in the country.
