Uzbekistan Airports unveiled plans to build two Greet areas – in place of parking lots P2 and P3 at the arrivals of Tashkent International Airport.
“Due to the rapid growth in passenger traffic, the area in the arrivals terminal was not enough for those greeting arrivals,” the company said in a statement.
It should be noted that recently, after the improvement of weather conditions, the area for those meeting at the airport "Tashkent" returned from the building of the arrival terminal to its original place - under a canopy behind the fence of the terminal.
“From January 14, due to abnormal frosts, the Uzbek airports received permission to let people to greet in the terminal building,” recalled Rano Juraeva, CEO of Uzbekistan Airports. - As I said earlier, the arrivals hall, built in 2018, does not meet international standards, it simply does not have a Greet area. Within a few days, we installed glass partitions to separate the customs area from the Greet area.”
Approximately, by the end of March, two such areas on about 1,400 square meters will be built - one instead of the existing outside canopy, the other - in the P2 parking lot between departure and arrival. In the near future, it is already planned to begin construction and installation work on the forecourt.
