President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today spoke to the leader of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over the telephone, the presidential press service said in a statement.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev once again expressed his deep condolences in connection with the numerous casualties and large-scale destruction caused by a powerful earthquake today in the southeastern provinces of Turkey.

“Words of sympathy and support were conveyed to the fraternal Turkish people, relatives and friends of the dead and injured,” the statement said says.

The two leaders discussed cooperation in order to overcome the consequences of the natural disaster. On February 7, it is planned to send humanitarian aid from Uzbekistan to Turkey and send a group of rescuers.

As previously reported, Uzbekistan will send a group of 60 rescuers and 3 units of rescue equipment, as well as humanitarian aid to Turkey.
