On the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Tashkent, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
Minister Çavuşoğlu underscored that Uzbekistan's chairmanship of the OIC had served to strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships within the organization and increase its reputation in the world arena.
The counterparts reviewed schedule and organizational aspects of future bilateral events, including the issues of holding regular meetings of the Strategic Planning Group at the level of heads of foreign policy agencies and the Uzbekistan-Turkey Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
They also discussed current situation in Afghanistan and other regional issues and discussed the ways to expand cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries.
