On the evening of January 24, a pregnant woman in Ferghana city set herself on fire during a conflict with her Islamic nikah husband in a Chevrolet Matiz. According to the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office ekistan, the man was taking the woman home from the hospital, the conflict began on the basis of the wife's jealousy towards her husband.
The man stopped the car near the Neftchi stadium. The woman took out a plastic bottle with gasoline, doused her husband, herself and the car interior. When the man jumped out of the car, the woman set fire to the gasoline with a lighter.
The firefighters who arrived at the scene quickly put out the fire, and the ambulance doctors saved the boy who was born to the deceased woman. However, the child, despite the efforts of doctors, died in the hospital.
The Ferghana prosecutor's office launched a criminal case under Incitement to suicide charge, with investigation now underway.
