Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the government meeting on Monday criticized the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance, accusing them of failing to properly finance the energy supply sector.
“We must admit that the situation would not be so difficult if some financial issues of the sector were addressed, if part of the proceeds was invested and contributed for the renewal of networks. It depends on (Deputy PM) Kuchkarov. I know you like saving money, so what in deed happened? Is this what you and the finance minister were up to?” the head of state said.
The President pointed to the need to change approaches to financing the energy sector.
“Now, starting from today, we will introduce a different system. We will transfer strategic enterprises to the Strategic Reform Agency. We will do everything ourselves, the Ministry of Finance has done nothing. Transformation is not done with money, but with reforms,” Mirziyoyev concluded.
