Experimental batch of JET A-1 aviation fuel for gas turbine engines has been received at the Ferghana Oil Refinery (FOR), the Ministry of Energy reported.
Reportedly, this fuel meets the European quality standard and is in high demand in the international aviation market, including Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
Aviation fuel JET A-1 produced by FOR passed qualification tests conducted by the All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Refining. After these tests, the production technology was approved, and now a certificate of conformity has been received from the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation.
$3 million worth special laboratory equipment was delivered to FOR to organize a technological process based on the ASTM (USA) standard. Relevant laboratory accreditation certificates have been received.
“Obtaining the conformity certificate testifies to the plant's high ability to produce high-quality and modern aviation fuel. The products comply with all established standards and the declared technology,” said Alisher Dudoev, representative of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation.
The configuration of the FOR’s process units makes it possible to increase the production of jet fuel to 8,000 tons per month and, in the future, to increase supplies to both local and foreign airports.
Currently, the Ferghana Refinery is working to ensure the industrial production of a new type of aviation fuel.
