Gofurjon Mirzaev, by a presidential decree, was appointed adviser to the president in charge of civil service, dialogue with the public and coordination of the activities of local authorities.
By another decree, he was dismissed from the position of governor of Syrdarya province, Sherzod Asadov, the president's spokesman said.
Gofurjon Mirzaev, 58, has served as province governor since December 2016. In 1990 he graduated from the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute, and in 2000 - the Tashkent State Economic University, in 2003 - the Academy of State and Public Construction under the president.
