Tashkent will host meeting of the Uzbek-UK Council for Trade and Industry. This week, Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Badriddin Abidov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom Tim Torlot.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the state and prospects for advancing the bilateral trade and economic cooperation and discussed the practical aspects of cooperation to support the process of Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO, strengthening cooperation within the framework of the enhanced system of preferences Enchanced GSP +, as well as organizational issues of holding the next 26th meeting of the Uzbek-British Council on Trade and Industry, which will be held on November 30 in Tashkent. 

The parties underscored the increased interest of the businesses of the two countries to attend the Council, which has to date registered about 200 major companies. 

Tim Torlot also expressed readiness to continue providing support to Uzbekistan as part of the process of Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO by providing consulting and technical assistance.
