At Uzbek Foreign Ministry was held a teleconference with experts of the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
Officials of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, Finance Ministry, Ministry of Justice, Foreign Trade Ministry, Committee for Investments, Prosecutor-General’s Office, Center for coordination and development of securities market, Department for combating tax, currency crimes and legalization of criminal proceeds under the Prosecutor-General’s Office were also present in the event.
The parties reviewed the draft framework agreement with the EIB, which will govern future EIB activities in Uzbekistan. Once the agreement signed by the parties the Bank can start financing capital investments in Uzbekistan. This accord will open up additional avenues for the Government of Uzbekistan to acquire funds for pursuing development initiatives in important social, economic and development sectors.
The Uzbek side agreed to step up the internal harmonization procedure of the draft and ready it for signing. The parties also agreed to hold another round of talks on the draft agreement in near future.
