As part of his Syrdarya trip President Mirziyoyev inspected Yangier small industrial zone created by the March 30, 2017 Presidential decree.
This industrial zone will host 125 projects worth $ 106 million in 2017-2018 in textile, leather, footwear, chemical, food, electrical engineering, building materials, fruit processing industries, with over 3,200 jobs to be created.
The President inspected the empty building of the former enterprise YangierYulIndustriya (transl. Yangiyer Road Industry) in the territory of the industrial zone. The enterprise has been idle in recent years and occupies 9 ha, it has now been handed over to Uzbekistan Railways. The rail company will launch a Yangier plant for production of reinforced concrete and metal structures, which will be designed to produce 83,000 cub. m. of reinforced concrete products, 5,500 tons of metal structures per year, as well as build 15 bridges and overpasses. To implement this project, it is planned to invest 80 billion soums, resulting in creation of 1,250 jobs.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that this enterprise will become one of the important industrial facilities in the province, whose products will be in great demand.
The President also visited the enterprise Sirdaryo Best Fashion in the city of Gulistan.
This enterprise, inaugurated in March this year employs around 500 people. The knitted products produced here are fully exported. Equipped with modern and energy-efficient process equipment, the enterprise is now a major company not only in the province, but also in the scale of the country.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the light industry development targeted program for 2017-2018, which provides for the launch of projects for manufacture of children's sportswear, knitted and terry fabrics, yarn. The enterprises will have capacities to process 72,000 tons of cotton fiber.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev was also presented projects of pharmaceuticals and medical products created in the province.
Pharmaceuticals and medical products, which will be produced in new enterprises, will ensure import substitution.
He also inspected the greenhouse of the private enterprise Khozhi Hadoyboy Ota in Khavast district, which has high-end modern equipment from South Korea.
This greenhouse worth $625 thousand on one hectare can produce 150-200 tons of agricultural products per year. The bulk of which will be exported.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the need to expand this greenhouse, organize such greenhouses in other provinces.
