A new power plant is being built in the Syrdarya province. The project is being implemented by the Saudi ACWA Power through 100% direct investment. The plant will generate 12 billion kWh of electricity per year.

The project will help save 1.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually through the use of the most advanced energy-saving technologies, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.

The plant is being built on 55 ha in Shirin city and Boyovut district and is scheduled to commissioned by the end of 2023.

To date, the project has been implemented by 44%. Of these, 90 percent of design and 17 percent of construction work have been completed.
