The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project was included in the list of priority integration infrastructure projects. This became known during the regular meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
During the meeting, the draft resolution of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council “On the list of priority integration infrastructure projects in the field of transport of the EAEU Member States” was approved.
This list includes 2 projects: China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan railway project and Lugovaya - Balykchy railway electrification project.
On April 8 this year, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov. During the conversation, the parties discussed the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
In October 2021, it became known that Kyrgyzstan, for its part, completed all design work on the construction of the railway.
Last summer, experts said that Uzbekistan could receive up to $600 million from rail transit.
Earlier it was also reported that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway could run along the Torugart-Makmal-Jalal-Abad route.
It is possible that the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will begin in the fall.
