By the decree of the President of Uzbekistan of April 18, the State Committee for Privatization, Demonopolization and Development of Competition has been converted into the State Committee for Assistance to Privatized Enterprises and Development of Competition.
The decision was "aimed at ensuring a quality upgrade in the government policy in the field of development of private property and entrepreneurship at privatized assets, providing effective post-privatization assistance to business entities, and improving the efficiency of the use of state property."
The most important task of the committee is "to provide full assistance in restoration and increasing the efficiency of the production activities of privatized enterprises, to create new jobs and to coordinate to this end the activities of authorized state bodies, financial and other market entities in close interaction with Chamber of Commerce Industry and public and local authorities ".
Pursuant to the decree, by January 1, 2018, the following shall be created (regularly updated):
- Database on privatized assets, with break down to industries, provinces and various forms of property, with e- interaction with tax, statistical and cadastral bodies’ databases;
- Territorial registers of unused and inefficiently used privatized assets, production areas and construction-in-process facilities for their use for the development of entrepreneurship;
- Territorial registers of unused state owned assets offered to entrepreneurs for business purposes.
From June 1, in each district of the country the training courses shall be organized for entrepreneurs realizing projects at privatized facilities.
The new Committee should within two weeks prepare the Program of measures on development and realization of "road maps" of assistance to the privatized enterprises for 2017-2018.
Assistance Fund to Privatized Enterprises shall be formed under the committee instead of the Privatized State Property Fund.
