The vocational training centers were opened in Tashkent and Samarkand with the assistance of the Republic of Korea. A similar project is being implemented now in Shakhrisabz. The Republic of Korea will also support the establishment of centers in Urgench and the Fergana Valley (Kokand or Fergana). The construction of centers in other cities will be funded by the State Employment Assistance Fund, with grants from donor countries and soft loans of international financial institutions.

Centers will conduct free of charge retraining and advanced training in the specialties and professions that are in demand in the labor market. The centers will also offer short-term paid courses for job-seekers, as well as workers - at the request of employers.

During training the students from among the unemployed will receive monthly financial aid equal to one minimum wage (eq. 150,000 UZS) for a maximum of six months from the Employment Assistance Fund.
