Uzbekistan tops ranking in money remittances from Russia among the CIS countries, the Russian Central Bank said in a report Wednesday.

In Q3 of this year, Uzbeks received US$ 1.01 billion from Russia (34.9% more than in Q2).

According to Kommersant, in Q3, individuals beat the six-year record for money remittances from Russia to the CIS countries.

Uzbekistan is followed by Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

In July-September, cross-border transfers from Russia to the CIS countries through payment systems reached $ 2.29 billion.

The last time such a figure - $ 2.31 billion - was recorded in the second quarter of 2015.

Reportedly, the increase in remittances was due to the inflow of labor migrants, in particular, the organized import of labor from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, 1.6 million patents were issued in January-September 2021, which is twice as much as in the same period last year. 542,000 and 976,000 patents issued to Tajiks and Uzbeks, respectively.
