The Central Bank of Uzbekistan announced the issue of new 50 thousand and 100 thousand soum-banknotes into circulation on December 22. Their themes are dedicated to the Silk Road and the ancient history of Surkhandarya and Khorezm.
New samples of banknotes will be in circulation in parallel with the 50 thousand and 100 thousand soum banknotes issued in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
