Tashkent hosted the trilateral (Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan) and multilateral (Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan) negotiations with the participation of high-ranking officials of ministries and departments in charge of the design and construction of the Termez-Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway.
The parties highlighted the importance of this project for strengthening good-neighborly relations, developing interregional cooperation and boosting trade, as well as deepening cooperation in various economic sectors, the Uzbekistan Railways reported.
At the meetings, the parties agreed to swiftly study the proposed railway lines, regularly hold meetings of working groups and involve international financial institutions to the project after the development of a preliminary feasibility study.
