In Samarkand’s Jambay district the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the presentation of projects aimed at the development of light industry in the province.
The Head of our state was briefed on the projects implemented in the province with NBU's loans, namely the companies: 8 March LLC, Urgaz Textile, Urgaz Carpet, Arfa Exprod, Alnazar Orzu Servis, Samarqand Oqdaryo Textil Tola and others, which are expected to manufacture products worth US$ 110.4 million per year.
These enterprises will produce ready-made knitwear, jeans, clothes and bedding, with over 5,000 jobs to be created when these enterprises reach full capacity,.
Then, the projects financed by Asaka Bank were presented: Next Textile LLC, Okdaryo Tex, Marokand Sifat. The President wa briefed on the significance of these projects, the range of products, the planned investments and profits, created jobs.
The Head of our state noted the growing demand for quality textile products in the world, and therefore he said that it is necessary to raise the share of processed cotton fiber and manufacture of high-quality garments. The responsible persons were instructed to develop specific plans for further development of the industry, and boost exports.
The December 21, Presidential decree On the Program of Measures for Further Development of Textile, Garments and Knitting Industries for 2017-2019 has created opportunities for the development of the textile and ready-made garment industry.
The President was presented with the targeted program of measures in the light industry, which will be implemented in Samarkand province in 2017-2018.
Also, the President was told about the project for manufacture of garments at the Uzbek-South Korean JV Samarkand Apparel.
The Head of our state got acquainted with the projects on leather processing, manufacture of finished leather and special footwear. At the JV Kattakurgon Charm will be set up the manufacture of products from natural leather.
The Head of our state drew attention to ensuring the effectiveness of these projects, noted that the comprehensive measures taken in rural areas to create new jobs, especially for youth, the processing of locally grown cotton in the provinces provide more opportunities for entrepreneurs, serve as an important factor in creating new jobs and increasing incomes of households.
