The government of Uzbekistan has launched preparations for the privatization of the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Kombinat (NMMC). In 2022, up to 10% of the company's shares could be sold, said the Deputy PM/Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov.
The Uzbekistan Economic Forum 2021 kicked off today in Tashkent 29, with over 300 delegates of the government of Uzbekistan, international organizations and business participating in the event being held with the support of the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
Jamshid Kuchkarov underscored that the privatization of the NMMC was a very difficult task, for this international consultants were engaged, but did not elaborate on which exactly.
