The mayors of Tashkent and Shanghai signed a memorandum of cooperation in Shanghai. The document foresees a number of measures aimed at expanding cooperation between the two cities for 2017-2019, Jahon news agency reported.
The two mayor’s offices created a working group that will monitor the implementation of the agreement's provisions. The document covers such areas as business and trade, education, culture, tourism and sports.
As part of the trip to China, the officials of Tashkent mayor’s office met with the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Commission on Urbanization, Construction and Communications, Jin Chen. The sides discussed the possibilities of establishing cooperation in the construction sector, utility services and landscaping.
During the talks with the heads of Shanghai Construction and Shangtex, a presentation was made of promising projects to be implemented in Tashkent and its environs. Preliminary agreements were reached on the participation of Chinese companies in the construction of a number of facilities in Tashkent.
