The Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Khodjaev hosted the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) Baghdad Amreev, the mInistry said in a statement.
Reportedly, the parties discussed a number of issues, including the holding in 2021 of the first meeting of the Council of Ministers of Agriculture aimed at further expanding the exchange of experience, information and technologies between the CCTS member-states.
“In addition, the parties discussed the organization of an agricultural business forum with the participation of large agricultural companies from the member-states. The minister spoke about the need to align the agriculture policies of the Turkic Council with the FAO Regional South-South Cooperation Program, the statement noted.
In conclusion, Jamshid Khodjaev said that in Uzbekistan, a science, education and agricultural production integrated system (AKIS) is being created in pursuance of the goals and objectives of the agricultural development strategy.
Recently, the concept of priority development of the knowledge and innovation system in agriculture in 2021-2025 was approved by a presidential decree. A national center for knowledge and innovation in agriculture has been set up under the Ministry of Agriculture, which will coordinate the research activities of all state scientific and educational agricultural institutions.
