At the invitation of the Namangan province governor Khairullo Bozarov, a delegation headed by First Deputy Chairman of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea Kim Chang Keon visited the province to discuss stepping up the implementation of joint projects, Dunyo news agency reported.
On Tuesday, a meeting was held in Namangan between Kim Chang Keon and the governor Khairullo Bozarov. The negotiations were also attended by the Executive Vice President for Automotive Business of Evergreen Motors Kim Ik Dong, Head of the Hyundai Motors UZ Namangan Joint Venture Kim Yong Chol, the representative office of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association in Uzbekistan, Yoon Joon Sok, as well as officials of the governor’s office.
During the meeting, agreements were discussed and reached on further phases of the project for the construction of a plant for manufacturing of Hyundai commercial vehicles at the Namangan free economic zone. The parties noted that the project is scheduled to be launched by the end of October 2020 as the South Korean company Hyundai Motors decides on the technical parameters of the investment project.
Also, the sides visited the future site of the automobile plant in the Namangan FEZ to get acquainted with the plans for the construction of the facility.
