In Kuwait city was held the Uzbekistan-Kuwait Business Forum, which was attended by the Uzbek Foreign Ministry delegation, a statement of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry press service said.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov expressed deep appreciation of the Business Forum, which is aimed at identifying promising areas of cooperation between the two countries in trade, economic, financial, investment and other areas.
The Minister pointed to great opportunities for advancing Uzbek-Kuwaiti relations, to actively utilize the untapped potential. It was emphasized that trade and economic, financial and investment areas are considered as the priority and promisinge in bilateral relations.
The sides expressed hope that through the business forum the Kuwaiti businesses will get to know more about Uzbekistan, its economy and the future priorities, as well as the enormous business opportunities offered.
It was noted that all the necessary conditions have been created in Uzbekistan for expansion and deepening of business ties: there is close and trustful political dialogue between the two countries, the necessary legal framework is put in place, there is a favorable investment climate for foreign investors.
It was stated that the numerous bilateral meetings, including the talks between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoev and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in Tashkent in October 2016 confirm the parties’ political will to activate and expand trade-economic and investment cooperation, encourage businesses in their respective countries to establish contacts and implement joint projects.
As emphasized in the speech, during the years of independence Uzbekistan has created comprehensive legal guarantees and privileges for foreign investors and has developed a system of measures to stimulate the activities of enterprises with foreign investment.
The business forum was attended by the members of the Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, representatives of leading Kuwaiti companies, including KIPCO, KAMCO, Kuwait Investment Company, the Kuwait Investment Agency, Thuwany Trading Company, Burgan Bank and others.
