In January-December 2019, the Uzbekistan average monthly salary before tax topped 2.32 million soums or US$ 245, an increase by 27.5% year-to-year, the State Statistics Committee said in a report.

Much lower than the average salary was paid to healthcare and social services jobs - by 34%, accommodation and food services job - by 24.6%, and teacher jobs - by 20.8%. Significantly higher salaries were paid to banking, insurance, leasing and lending and intermediary jobs - by 106.4%, IT jobs - by 70.9%.

The findings of the analysis show that average salaries increase in all sectors.

Average salary before tax for education jobs in October 2019 - 2.02 million soums, in November - 2.08 million soums, in December - 2.29 million soums.

Average salary before tax for industrial jobs in October 2019 - 3.54 million soums, in November - 3.43 million soums, in December - 4.49 million soums.

Average salary before tax for healthcare and social services jobs, in October 2019 - 1.64 million soums, in November - 1.57 million soums, and in December - 1.69 million soums.

Average salary before tax for banking, insurance, leasing and lending and intermediary activities, in October 2019 - 5.05 million soums, in November - 4.74 million soums, in December - 8.37 million soums.

Average salary before tax for transportation and storage jobs, in October 2019 - 3.21 million soums, in November - 3.35 million soums, in December - 3.65 million soums.

If taken by provinces, the highest average monthly salary before tax was in Tashkent city - 3.38 million soums (in relation to the national average of 145.4%), Navoi - 2.96 million soums (127.4%) and Tashkent - 2.55 million soums (109.9%) provinces. The lowest average monthly salary before tax were observed in Samarkand (1.9 million soums), Ferghana (1.89 million soums), Namangan (1.87 million soums) and Surkhandarya (1.87 million soums).

In order to determine the average salary using structural methods in 2019, the form of statistical monitoring of salaries of employees of legal entities and their divisions for November was improved, minus agricultural enterprises, small businesses and non-governmental non-profit organizations.

As per the President’s July 12 No. 5765 of, 2019 Increasing Salaries, Pensions, State Scholarships and Allowances Decree, from September 1, 2020, the minimum salary cannot be less than 634,880 soums, or US$ 67.
