At the Uzbekistan Ministry of Transport of the Republic was held a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Railwaysб Igbal Guseynov.
The sides discussed the ways to further advance cooperation in transport, effective use of international transport corridors and increasing transit freighting, while touching upon organizing multimodal shipping on China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia route, in particular the use of Georgian and Turkish seaports, as well as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
The sides pointed to the need to set up a coordinating committee including representatives of the transport authorities of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, and cerate favorable conditions for the transportation of cargo and application of flexible tariffs.
In this regard, the Azerbaijani officials proposed to hold the first meeting on this issue in December of this year, with the parties agreeing to accelerate joint study of launching the first freight tests on this route.
