The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and the Saudi Arabian ACWA Power signed deals on the construction in Uzbekistan of several power plants with a total capacity of 2250 MW. The signing took place on the sidelines of the Central Asian Energy Forum held in Tashkent.
The Common Terms Agreements for the projects of a 1250 MW thermal power plant and wind power plants with a capacity of up to 1000 MW in Uzbekistan will be based on public-private partnership terms, the service of the Ministry of Energy said.
ACWA Power is a developer, investor, co-owner and operator of a portfolio of power generation and desalinated water production plants currently with presence in 10 countries including in the Middle East and North Africa, Southern Africa and South East Asia regions.
